Each year we offer the best 450 rams from our flock at Hamilton. This central location has good facilities and central proximity for transport both in and out pre and post sale. It also offers accommodation and amenities for those that travel.

These rams are packed with performance and carefully selected for structure and phenotype with all rams being in the top 10% band on the Maternal $ Index. The top 100 are sold in pens of two through the ring with the successful bidder having the pick. The following 350 are sold in pens of 5, (odd pen of 3 or 4) and lotted so that ASBVs and type are as uniform as possible.

The first week in December sees the annual production sale of Cashmore Oaklea and its client’s commercial stock. Run as a multi vendor multi agent sale on the Auctions Plus sale platform it attracted in 10,000 females in 2016. A break down of numbers was 7000 ewe lambs, 1500, 1.5 year olds and 1500 mixed age ewes. Marketed under the Cashmore Oaklea brand these stock have attracted strong premiums above prevailing market values.

 

On an as needs basis extra sales run in Jan to June 2017 saw a further 15,000 ewes and ewe lambs marketed sales in total held in 2014/2015 with 8000 ewes marketed.

Lamb Sales

From October annually

Wether lambs from our commercial flocks have been marketed via Auctions plus, sale yards, direct to works or to repeat finishers depending on age, weight and seasonal circumstances. The early June drop lambs reach 21 to 24kg carcass weight by October in dryer areas with the bulk of lamb sold November to January. Give us a call if requiring stock as we have sizable commercial operations to draw lambs from.
